Purple Panther Nation, much to the smiles of students across the district....we are OFFICIALLY taking an E Learning day due to the forecast of snow during the morning hours that may impact the afternoon commute on top of our current conditions. While this is a hard call to make with snow just starting in the area, there are varied reports of accumulation of 1 to 4 inches. The current road conditions are still spotty and we are unsure of the impact of the potential snow. We will error on the side of caution. I hope everyone stays safe and warm (while maybe playing in the snow some, too!). Have a great day.

Many thanks to the wonderful group at Karmak and everyone who donated and made the 2nd annual Warm Up Our Kids evemt so successful! Not only did Karmak donate clothing, but they also dropped off a very generous monetary donation collected at the event. Dear Purple Panther Nation, I apologize for the early morning message, but I wanted to address some concerns circulating on social media regarding a potential threat. Late last night, I was made aware of a screenshot being shared on social media. The Litchfield Police were immediately contacted and began investigating. While we understand the anxiety this may cause, I want to assure you that after a thorough investigation, our local law enforcement has shared that they have no reason to believe that this recent communication is connected to our district or the original situation we dealt with last week. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. The police have been vigilant in their efforts and have reassured us that there is no credible threat to our schools at this time. We continue to work closely with them to monitor the situation and ensure that all safety protocols are in place. As always, our schools will be open, and we look forward to welcoming your children today. Our staff is prepared and committed to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment. We ask that you contact the school district or the Lichfield Police Department immediately if you hear of any concerns about the safety of our schools or students. See Something, Say Something. It helps us all work together to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. We greatly appreciate your trust and cooperation. Sincerely, Kelly McClain, Ed.D. Superintendent
