Dear Purple Panther Nation, I apologize for the early morning message, but I wanted to address some concerns circulating on social media regarding a potential threat. Late last night, I was made aware of a screenshot being shared on social media. The Litchfield Police were immediately contacted and began investigating. While we understand the anxiety this may cause, I want to assure you that after a thorough investigation, our local law enforcement has shared that they have no reason to believe that this recent communication is connected to our district or the original situation we dealt with last week. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. The police have been vigilant in their efforts and have reassured us that there is no credible threat to our schools at this time. We continue to work closely with them to monitor the situation and ensure that all safety protocols are in place. As always, our schools will be open, and we look forward to welcoming your children today. Our staff is prepared and committed to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment. A reminder that Litchfield Schools dismiss early tomorrow due to school improvement. Elementary schools dismiss at 11:30. LMS/LHS dismiss at 11:45. All elementary LMS/LHS students will be served will be served a cold lunch option prior to dismissal. There is no afternoon Pre K.

Litchfield schools will be on spring break starting Wednesday next week. Schools will be closed Wednesday, March 27 through Monday, April 1. School resumes Tuesday, April 2 at the usual time.

Reminder – Wednesday February 28th Madison Park has a half day of e-learning as it is a mid-year parent teacher conference day. NO SCHOOL K & 1st. T. All students in grades 2-12 will have lunch at school on this day and dismiss at 11:30There is NO afternoon Pre K on this date as it is instead a Buddy day. School resumes Thursday, February 29th. Also, there is NO school on Monday, March 4th for the Pulaski Holiday.

There will be no school Monday, February 19th due to the Presidents Day Holiday. School will resume Tuesday at the usual time.

8th grade parents, This is just a reminder that the LHS high school registration meeting is tonight at 6pm in the Unit Office. You and your student are encouraged to attend. We will go over the registration process and answer any questions you may have. Please bring the completed green registration form to this meeting or have your son/daughter return it to school the next morning. We look forward to seeing you tonight.

**REMINDER** Early Dismissal for School Improvement on Wednesday at 11:30 for K-12. No afternoon Pre K. Cold lunch will be served early at school. Normal schedule resumes on Thursday.

Due to the expected freezing rain and potential poor driving conditions, the Litchfield School district will not be in session tomorrow, Monday January 22. This will be an e-learning day. Teachers will provide assignments via Rooms or Google Classroom. School should resume Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the usual time.

Due to snow covered road conditions, Litchfield schools will be closed today Friday, January 19th. This will be an e-learning day. Teachers will post assignments in the Room's App.

8th grade parents, On Monday, January 22nd Mrs. Cress, the high school counselor, will be meeting with all 8th grade students to go over registration for high school. During that meeting 8th graders will be given registration forms to pick high school classes for next year. Please make sure your 8th grader brings these papers home for you to go over with them. The green registration will be due back on February 1st. We will have a parent meeting to go over registration and these materials on Wednesday, January 31st at 6pm at the Unit Office.

Information regarding assignments will be provided in the Rooms App. With warmer temperatures after the noon hour on Tuesday, evening events are planned to take place as scheduled.
