Unity Day

Send a visible message of building commUNITY through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion to prevent bullying.

This month is also National Bullying Prevention Month. The key message is to build community through kindness to one another, acceptance, and inclusion. Tomorrow is Unity Day across the country and people, students and adults alike, are encouraged to wear orange.

Orange is a color that is associated with safety and visibility. It is a color described as warm and inviting and makes an impactful statement. The message to be shared is that we will be kind to all, support one another, stand up for one another, and empower each other to speak up and reach out with kindness.

Prevention is important is because promoting and modeling positive social behaviors before negative outcomes like bullying occur is a good way to create safer, healthier schools and communities for all children.

Everyone is encouraged to wear ORANGE on Wednesday in to show support and send this message.+
